Gio Ponti Chair Model "969" in Beech Plywood, Edition Montina International, Italy, 1950

Gio Ponti Chair Model "969" in Beech Wood, Edition Montina International, Italy, 1950

Among the icons of Giò Ponti we find Ponti 29692, a reinterpretation of the spiral chair presented in 1936 at the VI Triennale di Milano. Re-designed in 1969 by Ponti himself, It exalts the classic aspiration of Ponti's sign in a sum of unique and unrepeatable gestures: the spiral backrest is a tribute to the decoration that becomes a structural element, the interweaving of the lower crosspieces that unbalances the symmetry creating a tension between the rule and the unexpected, the flared triangular prism legs tapering towards the ground and upwards. A stylistic figure imbued with elegance and uniqueness. In beech available in natural beech or walnut-stained beech or white lacquered finish; curved plywood backrest, padded seat upholstered in velvet in four different nuances of green.

This series was manufactured by Montina International, Italy, circa, 1970.

The condition is very good, even excellent for a such fragile piece of art-furniture.
