Antonio Volpe "Dondolo" Chair Model 267, Italy, 1922

The rocking chair (Dondolo) n. 267 made by the Società Anonima Antonio Volpe, Udine, Italy, 1922.

The company was founded in 1981 and closed it doors in 1939 (the company no longer exist).

The design is attribuited to Max Fabiani, a young Designer-Architect,  together with "Antonio Volpe", they found the perfect synthesis between creative genius and “justice and progress” as industrial values with the Model n.267. From this industrial project originated Italian design in the world of furnishing.

This chair was sold from the early Nineteen Twenties in three different designs: the basic model, the one with adjustable back and the one with adjustable back and footrest. The last one is probably the most complete model it has been manufactured: with its three backrest positions and its four footrest positions, is the final and best synthesis of all.

The model n. 267, never was re-edicted or reproduced by any other company.

Provenance from a family in Veneto, Italy.
