"Cloud" Three-seater Sofa

Mahogany, Springs, Horsehair Blends, Macassar, Burgundy Leather

Manufactured by H.& L. Epstein Cabinetmakers, London, Great Britain, c. 1930

How This Sofa Is Crafted:

This sofa is built to last with solid oak frames, joined using traditional mortise-and-tenon or dovetail joints for unmatched strength and durability.

Handcrafted details like the cloud back are shaped using steam-bending techniques, ensuring both beauty and resilience.

The frame is first reinforced with webbing, then layered with natural padding—such as horsehair and coir—and tied off with twine for a supportive yet comfortable foundation.

Hand-tied springs are added to the webbing, creating a responsive seat and backrest that adapts to your body.

The backrest is sculpted and padded with leather, giving it a refined, artistic shape.

Finally, the padded frame is wrapped in high-quality leather, stretched tightly, and secured with tacks and stitching for a flawless finish.

The Macassar wood armrest inlays are meticulously sanded, stained, and polished to a high-gloss shine, adding the elegance.
