It consists of four walnut legs on a wooden structure coated with foam and upholstered with finely dark-blue and grey woven original fabric.

Carls Malstein (1888.1972) was a highly celebrated Swedish furniture design known for his classic sofas and other pieces that blend traditional craftsmanship with elegant, functional design. His work is a staple of Swedish design and highly collectible today.

Malmsten's work was inspired by traditional Swedish styles, specifically Gustavian and "rural rococo", but simplified with a modern, functional elegance. He rejected the extreme functionalism popular in the rest of Europe during his time, believing in the value of handcrafted furniture and natural materials.

Provenance from a furniture dealer, Malmö, Sweden. Acquired as Carl Malmstein in 2017.

In excellent stability. The original upholstery showing visible signs of wear, such as holes and right armrest damaged.
