Handcrafted in Brazil by Unknown Cabinetmaker, c.1970
Simply and intelligently designed, this "high" centre table consists of two half-spheres in ebonised moulded plywood, and a top in jacaranda.
The two half-spheres are simply clipped and fixed with a screw, easy to dismantle and to transport.
Brazilian modernism furniture is a vibrant and influential design movement that emerged primarily in the mid-20th century. It blends modernist principles with Brazil’s rich cultural heritage, natural materials, and tropical climate, creating pieces that are both functional and expressive.
Provenance from a Brazilian diplomat who served at the former Brazilian embassy in Bonn, Germany during the 1970-90s.
Table in very good original condition, showing few slight signs of wear, no scratches or marks.
