With a remarkable know-how-craftsmanship, this table consists of an extendable dining table that, which could easily accommodate up to 16 people when fully open.
The feet are ingeniously constructed on very discrete half spheres that hold metal balls acting as rollers. The table extensions were lost, but a furniture maker of your choice could easily reproduce them.
In the modern early 20th century, between Art Nouveau and Art Deco, furniture was produced in the Arts and Crafts, Mission and Craftsman styles. Many of the nowadays iconic architects and designers from that era have later inspired generations of furniture makers whose designs bear great resemblance to theirs. Today these "heavy wood furniture" getting used to decorate an entire living space, blended with contemporary and synthetic materials, or, used sparingly in eclectic homes, make a big statement of power.

Provenance from residential mansion, Berlin, Grunwald, Germany.
The table was already in the mansion with few other furniture when it was purchased by the new owners.
This table is attributed to the American cabinetmaker-designer Gustav Stickley because of the origin of the former owners and the other pieces founded manufactured by "Stickley".
As many ignores today, Berlin post-war 81945-1990) was occupied by Americans, British, and French that have divided the city in sectors for 45 years. Many have bought residences and have brought all theirs furniture with.
