Axel Einar Hjorth

(1888–1959) was a prominent Swedish architect and furniture designer, best known for his work as the chief designer at the prestigious department store Nordiska Kompaniet (NK) from 1927 to 1938. He played a significant role in establishing Swedish design on the international map, bridging the gap between Art Deco, neoclassicism (known as "Swedish Grace"), functionalism, and early Scandinavian modernism.
