Polyester Fibreglass, Vinyl

Unknown designer, or country of manufacture, probably produced in the 1960s, during the Soviet space program era. No marks or stamps visible.

It consists of a moulded polyester fibreglass coated with vinyl.

In recent years, the Soviet design became highly collectable, specially in the countries that formally made part of the Soviet Union. From Constructivism passing thought Modernism and its tendencies shows how politics took the design lead with the USSR’s ‘special path’ subduing innovation.

Chairs in good vintage condition, some fading parts visible.
