Belgian Cabinetmaker
Pair of "Brutalist" Armchairs
Massive Carved Oak, Chanel Tweed
Wood work Handcrafted in Belgium, c. 1970
These Belgian-made oak armchairs, crafted by a master cabinetmaker in the bold, unadorned spirit of brutalism, exude timeless strength and character. Their hand-carved oak frames—rich with the raw, organic texture of reclaimed wood—stand as a testament to artisanal skill and enduring design.
Re-upholstered in our ateliers, entirely handcrafted with a luxurious violet-hued Chanel tweed, the back seats cushions are wrapped in a fabric that marries sophistication with tactile warmth. The tweed’s subtle sheen and intricate weave add a layer of refined elegance, while the violet nuance introduces a touch of modern vibrancy, creating a striking contrast against the oak’s natural grain.
A harmonius blend of industrial grit sartorial grace, these armchairs are not just statement-where heritage meets contemporary allure.
