Postmodern Italian faux-marble coffee table by CeccarPlast, 1970s-1980s

Experimental, collectible and sophisticated 1970's graphic Italian coffee table composed of resin covered enamel lacquers over a wooden substrate that are painted to resemble marble. The intricacy of the painted surface is amazing and fools the eye into believing that it is not faux but is actually marble. The colors used on the table are all neutrals black and light gold and could fit into most any interior. this table is manufatured by an Italian company named Ceccarplast that popularized this technique in the 1960s and became very inovative during the 1970s and 1980s.

The general condition is very good, just a slight crack on the toop table. A restoration of piece is absolutely possible, but we give preference to the natural patina and traces of history to keep the original value.

Italian gilt-wrought-iron, glass top coffee table, 1960s

Italian wrought gilt iron coffee table with 1cm thick glass top.

in a very good vintage condition with a beautiful natural patina. Glass top showing slight traces of use.

H: 37cm x Top DIA: 102cm

Please note:

“Wrought iron” actually means that the metal has been heated and then hand-forged with tools. Most of today’s iron, by contrast, is “cast iron” which has been melted and then poured into a mold to harden and cut. That explains why craftsmen are able to shape real wrought iron into the intricate designs associated with the name, and why the finished product is considerably stronger. It’s also why wrought iron is usually "more expensive".

Aldo Tura lacquered parchment extendable bar-coffee table, early 1970

Aldo Tura lacquered parchment extendable bar-coffee table, early 1970.

Not much is known in literature about Tura's life. The experimental furniture designer has been dealing with the manual production of tables, cupboards and lamps since the 1930s. In 1939 he founded his own furniture workshop in Lombardia near Milano.

His mix of styles from Art Deco, Art Nouveau, and minimal. Tura went beyond the limits of traditional craftsmanship. Following the Art Deco movement, which focused on straight lines and angles, Tura's designs now included flowing lines and free forms. The limited edition of Tura's works is of high quality, some pieces only existed as prototypes. In his designs, he used a large selection of unusual materials such as eggshells, parchment, goatskin and wood veneers. His objects, often kept in the colors red, green and yellow (rarely in dark blue or violet) were occasionally also provided with wheels or roller feet as well as with bronze or brass fittings. Bar cabinets in various sizes and with different functions, from filigree trolleys to large floor cabinets, formed the focus of the work from Tura's workshop. They were equipped with accessories such as ice buckets, carafes, humidors, ashtrays and cocktail shakers, which were mostly covered with lacquered goatskin.

When many furniture manufacturers opted for mass production in the post-war years, Tura remained committed to traditional craftsmanship. Its preferred complicated and complex forms brought with it labor-intensive processes that did not allow the industrial production of large quantities. In the 1950s, Tura also produced hand-painted seating with motifs of architectural or Venetian landscapes.

The Brooklyn Museum in NYC shows some of Tura's works that were originally part of the traveling exhibition Italy at Work: Her Renaissance in Design Today 1950–53 .

The Tura company in Lazzate, Italy, continues to produce furniture based on the style of the designer who died in 1963.

Each glass plate floats within these designs clamped in several places, essentially holding the construction together.

VAN RAMBURREM in Style of Paul Kingma Copper and Slate coffee table, Signed

This coffee table has several copper rings and other metal pieces, different coloured stones and two ingrow British 1965 Winston Churchil, "Elizabeth II Gratia Regina" (5 shillings) coins, that today they were said to be worth £1000 each.

The table is Signed VAN RAMBURREM , unfortunately we still don't know much more about the artistit. Any information about we will be extremely thankfull for.

The Dutch artist Paul Reinier Kingma started making the "Kingma tables" in the 70s. His tables are made of concrete, layered with natural stones, copper of different seizes and coins that during the 1980's and 1990's he has inspired few others artists.
The top table base is in beton following the early works of Kingma. Also one stamp down under  the top table that was partially ripped that could have help us to indentify the Artist.

This table  It is undoubtedly a work of art
